Equipment

  • small bowl
  • measuring cup
  • spoon
  • saucepan or container for warm liquid

Ingredients

  • 1 packet unflavored Knox gelatin (about 7g)
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 cup warm liquid (juice, tea, or broth)

Instructions

  • Measure one packet of unflavored Knox gelatin (about 2 ¼ teaspoons).
  • Sprinkle the gelatin evenly over ¼ cup of cold water.
  • Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until it swells and thickens (blooming step).
  • Add the bloomed gelatin to warm liquid and stir gently until fully dissolved.

Notes

Always bloom gelatin in cold water before heating to avoid clumps. Do not boil, as high heat weakens its setting ability. Adjust the gelatin ratio depending on your desired firmness.
