Equipment

  • air fryer
  • knife or mandoline slicer for thin slices
  • mixing bowl
  • clean towel for drying slices

Ingredients

  • 2 medium sweet potatoes
  • 1-2 tsp olive oil
  • salt to taste
  • optional seasonings (paprika, garlic powder, or cinnamon)

Instructions

  • Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly and slice them into very thin, even rounds.
  • Soak the slices in cold water for 20–30 minutes to remove excess starch and improve texture.
  • Drain and pat the slices completely dry using a clean towel.
  • Toss the slices with a small amount of olive oil and salt until lightly coated.
  • Arrange the slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping.
  • Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 8–12 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking.
  • Remove chips and let them cool for a few minutes to crisp up before serving.

Notes

Slice evenly thin for best results. Soaking improves crispiness but is optional. Avoid overcrowding the basket and use minimal oil. Watch closely in the final minutes to prevent burning. Let chips cool to crisp fully before serving.
