Equipment

  • air fryer
  • sharp knife
  • spoon
  • basting brush
  • fork

Ingredients

  • 1 medium spaghetti squash
  • 1-2 tbsp olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Place the spaghetti squash on a stable surface and carefully cut it lengthwise. If needed, microwave for 2–3 minutes to soften before cutting.
  • Use a spoon to scoop out the seeds and stringy center until clean.
  • Brush the inside with olive oil and season evenly with salt and pepper.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F for 3–5 minutes.
  • Place the squash halves cut-side down in the air fryer basket.
  • Air fry for 18–22 minutes, checking for tenderness at 18 minutes.
  • Remove, let cool slightly, then use a fork to scrape into spaghetti-like strands.

Notes

Avoid overcooking to prevent mushy texture. Use a light coating of oil for best results. Let the squash rest for 2–3 minutes before shredding for better strand separation. You can customize flavors with garlic butter, parmesan, or spices after cooking.
