Equipment

  • air fryer
  • tongs
  • meat thermometer (optional)
  • paper towels

Ingredients

  • 1 ribeye steak (1–1.5 inch thick)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder or minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or melted butter

Instructions

  • Remove the ribeye steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 20–30 minutes.
  • Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic, then lightly coat with oil or melted butter.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  • Place the steak in the air fryer basket in a single layer without overcrowding.
  • Cook for 8–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, depending on thickness and desired doneness.
  • Remove the steak and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing to retain juices.

Notes

For best results, use a 1 to 1.5-inch thick ribeye. Always preheat the air fryer and let the steak rest after cooking to retain juices. You can add herbs like rosemary or thyme for extra flavor, or finish with butter for a richer taste. Use a thermometer to avoid overcooking.
