Equipment

  • cup or glass
  • spoon
  • grater or knife
  • citrus juicer (optional)

Ingredients

  • 1-2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger (grated or sliced)
  • 1 cup water (warm or cold)
  • 1 tsp honey (optional)

Instructions

  • Add fresh lemon juice to a cup.
  • Grate or slice fresh ginger and add it to the cup.
  • Pour warm or cold water over the mixture.
  • Stir well and let it sit for 2–3 minutes.
  • Add honey if desired and mix again before serving.

Notes

Adjust the strength by adding more or less ginger. Add honey for sweetness or mint and cucumber for variation. For a stronger flavor, simmer ginger first, then add lemon juice after cooling slightly. Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
