Italian sausage in air fryer crispy and juicy

Italian Sausage in Air Fryer

Italian sausage in air fryer is one of the easiest ways to cook juicy sausage with a crispy outer casing. The hot circulating air cooks the sausage evenly while keeping the inside tender and flavorful. This quick and beginner-friendly method works perfectly for sandwiches, pasta meals, meal prep, or easy weeknight dinners.

Equipment

  • air fryer
  • tongs
  • meat thermometer

Ingredients

  • 4 Italian sausage links

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375–400°F for 3–5 minutes.
  • Place the Italian sausage links in a single layer inside the air fryer basket, leaving space between each sausage.
  • Cook the sausage for 10–15 minutes depending on the thickness and whether the sausage is fresh or frozen.
  • Flip the sausage links halfway through cooking to help both sides brown evenly.
  • Check that the sausage is fully cooked and browned on the outside before removing it from the air fryer.
  • Let the sausage rest for 1–2 minutes before serving to help retain the juices.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket or the sausage may cook unevenly. Turn the sausage halfway through cooking for the best browning. Frozen sausage may require an extra 3–5 minutes of cooking time. Let the sausage rest for 1–2 minutes before serving to keep the juices inside.
