Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk or oat milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 banana, sliced

  • 1 tbsp peanut butter or almond butter

Instructions

  • Add the oats, milk or plant-based milk, water, and a pinch of salt into a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer while stirring occasionally to help the oats cook evenly and become creamy.
  • Cook the oatmeal for 5 to 7 minutes until the oats are soft and the mixture has thickened.
  • Reduce the heat and stir in toppings like banana slices, blueberries, chia seeds, cinnamon, peanut butter, or almond butter.
  • Stir everything together until fully combined and creamy.
  • Serve warm immediately with extra fruit, seeds, or nut butter if desired.

Notes

For creamier oatmeal, add an extra splash of milk before serving. Customize with bananas, berries, chia seeds, peanut butter, walnuts, or cinnamon. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat slowly while stirring and adding milk as needed.
