Ingredients

  • 1 crusty Italian bread loaf (about 12 inches long),
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened),
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced),
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped),
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional),
  • Coarse sea salt (to taste)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C)
  • Split bread loaf lengthwise and place on a baking sheet
  • Mix butter, minced garlic, parsley, and a pinch of salt in a bowl
  • Spread mixture evenly on bread slices
  • Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the top
  • Bake for 8 minutes until golden
  • Switch to broil and cook 2-3 minutes for a crispy finish

Notes

Use fresh garlic for maximum flavor—pre-packaged minced garlic is less aromatic
Bread works best if not overly fresh (1 day old is ideal)
Add chili flakes or oregano for extra depth
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days
