Equipment

  • air fryer
  • mixing bowl
  • bread knife
  • spoon or spatula
  • small brush or butter knife

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread or Italian bread
  • 4 tbsp softened butter
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup mozzarella cheese (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 350°F for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Slice the French bread or Italian bread into thick even slices or cut the loaf in half lengthwise.
  • In a small bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, Parmesan cheese, olive oil, and salt until fully mixed.
  • Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly across the bread without soaking the slices.
  • Arrange the bread in a single layer inside the air fryer basket, leaving small gaps between each piece for airflow.
  • Cook the garlic bread at 350°F for 5 to 7 minutes until the edges become crispy and golden brown.
  • If using mozzarella cheese, sprinkle it on top during the final minute of cooking so it melts without overcooking.
  • Remove the garlic bread from the air fryer and let it rest for 1 minute before serving warm.

Notes

Use softened butter instead of melted butter for the best texture. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket so the bread crisps evenly. Add mozzarella or Parmesan cheese during the final minute for cheesy garlic bread. Slightly day-old bread works especially well because it absorbs the garlic butter evenly.
