Equipment

  • air fryer
  • cutting board
  • knife
  • mixing bowl
  • kitchen towel for drying potatoes

Ingredients

  • 4 medium potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • optional spices (garlic powder, paprika, herbs)

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  • Wash, peel if desired, and cut potatoes into evenly sized ½–1 inch cubes.
  • Pat the potatoes completely dry, then toss with olive oil, salt, pepper, and optional spices.
  • Spread the potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
  • Cook for 15–20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking.
  • Check for golden, crispy edges and soft centers. Adjust seasoning if needed and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crispiness, soak diced potatoes for 20–30 minutes and dry thoroughly before cooking. Avoid overcrowding the basket and cook in batches if needed. Add delicate herbs or cheese after cooking for best flavor.
