Ingredients

  • 2 cod fillets
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika or garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp cooking spray or light oil

Instructions

  • Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels and season with salt, pepper, and paprika or garlic powder.
  • Prepare a coating station with one bowl of beaten egg and another with breadcrumbs or panko.
  • Dip each cod fillet into the egg, then press into the breadcrumbs until evenly coated.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F and lightly spray the basket with oil.
  • Place the coated cod fillets in a single layer in the basket and lightly spray the tops with oil.
  • Cook for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  • Check that the cod flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F before serving.

Notes

Pat the cod completely dry before coating to ensure crispiness. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs. Adjust cooking time depending on thickness or if using frozen cod.
