Equipment

  • air fryer
  • large mixing bowl
  • knife
  • cutting board
  • paper towels
  • measuring spoons

Ingredients

  • 1 medium green cabbage
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 360°F for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Wash the cabbage thoroughly and dry it completely using paper towels.
  • Slice the cabbage into thin strips or chip-sized pieces for even cooking.
  • Place the cabbage in a large bowl and toss with olive oil, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  • Arrange the cabbage in a thin single layer inside the air fryer basket while leaving space for airflow.
  • Cook the cabbage at 360°F to 375°F for 8 to 12 minutes until the edges become crispy and lightly browned.
  • Shake the basket halfway through cooking for more even crisping and browning.
  • Sprinkle Parmesan cheese or Cajun seasoning during the final minute if desired for extra flavor.
  • Let the cabbage chips rest for 1 minute before serving so the edges become even crispier.

Notes

Dry the cabbage completely before cooking to help the edges crisp properly. Avoid overcrowding the basket because trapped moisture can soften the cabbage instead of crisping it. Shake the basket halfway through cooking for even browning. Smaller batches usually create the crispiest texture.
