Equipment

  • air fryer
  • mixing bowl
  • knife
  • cutting board
  • towel or paper towels for drying potatoes

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb red potatoes, cut into chunks
  • 1.5 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika

Instructions

  • Wash and scrub the red potatoes, then cut them into evenly sized pieces or quarters for even cooking.
  • Pat the potatoes completely dry with a towel to remove excess moisture.
  • Place the potatoes in a bowl, add olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika, then toss until evenly coated.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F to ensure immediate crisping.
  • Place the potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook for 15–18 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  • Check for crispiness and cook an additional 2–3 minutes if needed until golden brown and tender inside.

Notes

For extra crispiness, make sure potatoes are completely dry before seasoning. Avoid overcrowding the basket and cook in batches if needed. You can customize flavors by adding herbs, parmesan, or spices after cooking.
