Equipment

  • air fryer
  • mandoline or sharp knife
  • mixing bowl
  • kitchen towel

Ingredients

  • 2 large potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold)
  • 1-2 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  • Slice the potatoes into thin, even rounds using a sharp knife or mandoline.
  • Soak the potato slices in cold water for 10–15 minutes to remove excess starch.
  • Drain and pat the slices completely dry with a clean towel.
  • Toss the potato slices with a light coating of oil and salt.
  • Arrange the slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping.
  • Cook at 350–375°F for 10–15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crisp.

Notes

For extra crispiness, soak the slices and dry thoroughly before cooking. Avoid overcrowding the basket and cook in batches if needed. You can customize flavors with paprika, garlic powder, or herbs. Serve immediately for best texture.
