Equipment

  • air fryer
  • mixing bowls
  • knife
  • cutting board
  • tongs

Ingredients

  • 500 g white fish (cod or tilapia), cut into strips
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp oil spray

Instructions

  • Pat the fish dry and cut it into even strips about 1 inch wide.
  • Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with seasoning.
  • Dip each fish strip into flour, then egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 2–3 minutes.
  • Arrange fish sticks in a single layer in the basket and lightly spray with oil.
  • Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  • Check that the fish flakes easily and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F before serving.

Notes

For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking. Flip halfway through cooking for best results. You can use frozen fish sticks directly without thawing. Add lemon zest, garlic powder, or parmesan for extra flavor variations.
