Equipment

  • air fryer
  • mixing bowls
  • knife
  • cutting board
  • tongs

Ingredients

  • white fish fillets (cod, tilapia, or flathead)
  • potatoes (cut into fries)
  • panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • flour
  • salt
  • pepper
  • paprika
  • light oil spray

Instructions

  • Cut potatoes into even strips. Soak them in water for 20 minutes, then dry completely.
  • Place fries in the air fryer at 380°F and cook for 15–18 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  • Season the fish. Dip each piece in flour, then egg, then coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  • Place coated fish in the air fryer, spray lightly with oil, and cook at 375°F for 10–12 minutes until golden and flaky.
  • Return fries to the air fryer for 2–3 minutes if needed for extra crispiness, then serve with the fish.

Notes

For extra crispiness, spray the fish lightly with oil before cooking. Always start the fries first since they take longer. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer for best results. You can customize flavors with spices like garlic powder, cayenne, or lemon zest.
