Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup softened unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract, then mix until fully combined.
  • Gradually stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt until a soft cookie dough forms.
  • Fold the chocolate chips into the dough gently without overmixing.
  • Chill the cookie dough for 15 minutes to help the cookies stay thick while baking.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 320°F for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Place small portions of cookie dough on parchment paper or an air fryer-safe baking pan, leaving enough space between each cookie.
  • Air fry the cookies at 320°F to 325°F for 7 to 8 minutes until the edges turn golden while the centers remain slightly soft.
  • Let the cookies cool for 2 minutes before serving so the centers finish setting.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 15 minutes before air frying. Avoid overcrowding the basket so the cookies spread evenly. Add extra chocolate chips or sea salt flakes on top before baking for bakery-style cookies. Remove cookies while centers still look slightly soft because they continue setting as they cool.
