Equipment

  • air fryer
  • large mixing bowl
  • tongs
  • paper towels

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings (split into flats and drumettes)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 0.25 cup Frank’s RedHot sauce
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  • Pat the chicken wings completely dry using paper towels to remove moisture.
  • In a large bowl, toss wings with baking powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 380°F for 3–5 minutes.
  • Place wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
  • Cook at 380°F for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking.
  • Increase temperature to 400°F and cook for an additional 5 minutes to crisp the wings.
  • Mix Frank’s RedHot sauce with melted butter, then toss the hot wings until fully coated.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite sides and dipping sauces.

Notes

Pat wings completely dry before cooking for maximum crispiness. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Always cook first, then toss in sauce to keep wings crispy. You can adjust heat by adding more butter for mild wings or cayenne for extra spice.
